Form 470 Alerts

Every new Form 470, the moment it posts.

Schools and libraries file tens of thousands of Form 470s every funding year. On a busy filing-window day, USAC publishes 400+ of them at once. ERateSignal polls opendata.usac.org continuously and surfaces new filings as scannable rows — with the filters E-Rate sellers actually use.

What's a Form 470?

Form 470 is the competitive-bidding notice a school or library files with USAC before they can commit E-Rate funds. It spells out what services they want — connectivity, internal network equipment, managed broadband, and so on — and opens a mandatory 28-day window for service providers to respond.

Once a Form 470 is certified, it becomes part of the public record at opendata.usac.org. That's the dataset ERateSignal works from. We do not scrape the E-Rate Productivity Center and we do not use any authenticated source — only what USAC has chosen to publish openly.

Filters that match how sellers work.

Generic alert emails collapse every filing into a subject line. ERateSignal gives you the full facet set:

  • State, zip code, BEN (Billed Entity Number)
  • Category One / Category Two, service type (IC, MIBS, Data Transmission, Wi-Fi Hotspots, Wireless School Bus)
  • Entity type — school, library, library system, school district, consortium
  • Posted-date range, funding year (single or multi-select)
  • Applicant name, Form 470 application number
  • Consulting firm name or registration number
  • Manufacturer / OEM filter by product line

Every filter writes to the URL, so a search can be bookmarked, shared with a teammate, or restored later as a saved search.

Deal scoring — so your inbox isn't the bottleneck.

A 400-row alert batch isn't useful if you have to read all of them. ERateSignal assigns each filing a 0–100 relevance score against your profile: your territory, your SPIN, your OEMs, and your target district sizes. Scores are transparent — hover any score and the three driving factors are visible. No black box.

Sort by score, filter by threshold, pin the top filings to a pipeline. Replace the Sunday-night spreadsheet ritual with a two-minute triage.

How it compares.

Email-only alert services (the incumbent model) send subject-line notifications with no filtering beyond keywords. Consulting-firm data tools bundle alerts with their services and hide behind sales calls. ERateSignal is the only modern, self-serve alternative built specifically for service-provider sales teams — with transparent pricing, shareable URLs, and deep filters.
